Photography: Beginner
This hands on course is designed to teach the beginning photographer basic photographic techniques using film and darkroom printing processes. Students should have a 35mm camera. Manual cameras are preferred, but automatic cameras are acceptable. Please bring a camera and fresh batteries to the first class meeting.
Topics will include: SLR camera functions, developing film, silver based print making, composing stronger images and mounting. Supplies such as film and print paper can be purchased by the student independently or through the photography program.

Over the last 12 years, Elizabeth has been a full time Technical Photography instructor in the Department of Technology and Enviromental Design at Appalachian State University. Elizabeth received her BS in Studio Art with a K-12 Art Specialist Certification from SIUE, and a Masters from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.
PLEASE NOTE: Most classes meet over multiple weeks. If space is available, instructors are often able to add new students at the second class of a multi-week class.
