Jewelry Making With Precious Metal Clay - Beginning and Intermediate

Learn how to make beautiful silver jewelry using Precious Metal Clay (PMC). PMC is a new art material made of silver powder and an organic binder. It feels like putty and works like clay. Once shaped and dried, it’s fired in a kiln. Once fired, only the precious metal remains, forming a piece that’s 99.9% silver. You will learn to form objects by rolling, stamping, texturing, molding and cutting. You will also learn the properties of PMC and explore a variety of embellishing and finishing techniques for your silver artwork. PMC is an exciting and fun material that allows beginners to achieve very professional results. No experience is necessary. Intermediate students may work on projects of their choice with guidance from the instructor.

Fee includes one 25-gram package of PMC (enough for 2 or 3 projects) and use of an extensive selection of tools, texturing materials and finishing and polishing materials. Additional PMC can be purchased in class.
