Pottery: Beginning & Intermediate Techniques
Using hand building and throwing techniques students will learn to create larger forms, pull and attach handles, throw lidded forms and plates, and further develop glazing methods through frequent demonstrations and individualized instruction. With methods such as stretching, altering, faceting, carving, cutting, brushing, trailing etc. we will explore various ways to create a higher level of personal expression with the clay. Clay will be fired to Cone 6 in an electric kiln unless students want to explore Cone 10 gas firing for an additional charge of $25.00 per course. Twenty-five pounds of clay included in class fee. Additional clay must be purchased through the Craft Enrichment Program.
