Stained Glass: Beginner

Basic Stained Glass Class - copper foil method - This class best suits the needs of beginning stained glass enthusiasts, and those who want to refresh their stained glass skills while creating some new projects.  Basic terminology and techniques will be introduced in the first session, along with stained glass scoring and grinding methods demonstration and practice.  At each class session, the participant will have an opportunity to make a small project to take home.  During the first three sessions, projects will be made from the same pattern while we complete our introduction and guided practice in pattern preparation, scoring, breaking, grinding, foiling, and soldering.  At the end of the third session, each participant will select a project from a choice of pattern and glass provided by the instructor.  Approximately one to four projects will be completed by each student by the end of the course, depending upon the pace of the individual.  This class provides an opportunity for fun, fellowship, and creativity.  Come and join the group!

Basic Stained Glass - Participants will be introduced to the basic stained glass skills: glass safety, scoring and breaking stained glass, grinding cut glass pieces to fit the pattern being used and to remove sharp edges, wrapping glass pieces in copper foil, soldering the pieces together and cleaning/polishing the project.   In addition to completed projects, participants will take home a handout of terminology, techniques, tips, and the projects they completed in class.
